That is a rooster but the breed depends on its comb, does is have a straight comb or rose comb?

We need a better picture. How much can you narrow down age....how long have you had the bird, etc.

We think 6-7 months and we dont have it yet but are going to get it and wanted to know how old
I'm thinking Barred Rock cockerel, aged around 8 - 10 weeks.
My very first thought! Never seen such crisp barring.

I was going to say. That barring seems too sleek for a BR but it could be.
LOL! I certainly agree with all these members about the barring. All these comments about the barring just goes to show how often we look at hatchery quality Barred Rocks and Dominiques. This bird has show quality barring.

Oh, who are you getting him from? Do you know where that person got him? I'm just interested to see where such a good quality bird came from.
