I FORGOT TO UPDATE AHHH!! sorrysorrysorrysorry. READ FIRST


So about two days after Bossy’s surgery, I noticed that her superglue had come open a little bit near the top. Erica (the nurse friend) came over and we superglued the tiny hole. The next day the hole was back, bigger. I fed her some applesauce and it started to LEAK OUT OF THE HOLE. It turns out that the crop was also open, not just the skin. I kind of panicked. Erica came back over, looked at the hole and cleaned the superglue off. She didn’t know if she would be able to suture it shut.
My mom on Wednesday, three days after surgery, was at a meeting talking to a lady we know. She told mom how she had watched the video and her husband (a surgeon) joked around saying, “Why didn’t they call me?”
Well, even though he was joking we ended up calling him when her crop reopened. He was all for it (his family also raises chickens). Mike (the surgeon) and Erica both came over on the Thursday and sutured her back up.
The video is pretty long but I would watch the whole thing. It shows all of the surgery (heads are in the way a couple times but only for a moment). Mike and Erica were so cheerful the whole time and at one point Mike tells a story (I would even watch just for the story. it’s kind of graphic and a sad ending but we all started laughing. It just shows you what kind of humor my family has)

What luck to have a willing surgeon on hand! Best wishes for Bossy!
