Hey guys I'm new here and couldn't find any threads for people in harriman to learn who has what around them and if they can help one another.....i just started raising chickens this past Feb. i have 19 chickens from 3 leg horns 3 black and 2 red sex links 3 rhode island reds a white rock, 2 spekled sussex and 4 that are mix..that are just my layers in 30×30 area of the yard with a 8×8 coop framed with 2×4 and quarter inch OSB board I'm a carpenter so I went over everyone says but I love my chickens and don't believe in treating them like dumb chickens they can be as smart as you want them to be I think I've trained one of my Sarma hens named lacey to jump on my arm and to my next one using melworms...but I have a big concern guys with my first winter coming and I breed certain ones listed below and there lil breeds .my concern is I have three 6×6 lots with one having 1 roo 2 hen porcelain duccle...one with 5 hens 2 roo Seramas and the other has 3 Millie duccle hen and 1 roo. they all have lil 3×3 coops 3 foot off the ground with 2×2 legs...I'm really concerned with them staying warm...i breed them for sale...i have 3 amaricana hens and roo i also breed for sale..i had some gpod advice giving to me on the winter is coming fourm...but this one is pacifacally for people in harriman or around and have the same weather...thanks

Hello, I enjoyed reading your post. I would post a link to this in the Tennessee thread so folks from Tennessee can hop over and check it out. I think there is a list somewhere of cold hardy breeds.......I can not find it right now though. Somebody else might know where it is.
