My half-grown turkey has swollen and puffy feet and toes. His legs look perfectly fine, just his toes in particular are puffy. I can't see any sign of trauma or discoloration but they feel warm to the touch and he can't wrap them around his perch. He looks like he is in pain. I strongly suspect it is some kind of infection. Any ideas? The only antibiotic the feed store has is tetra-something in a small package that treats 400 turkeys!

I checked the bottoms of his feet and they look fine. Everyone else in the coop has normal feet. I separated him in to an extra-large dog-crate so I can monitor him closer and put a platform in so he can get up off the ground. He was also getting really picked on by someone, either the rooster, Paul, or the drake, Charlie, but his feathers are growing back in now. I did some research and I think he is growing too fast. I have limited his dietary intake and he still has swollen feet but he is in much less pain and can now walk although he still can't wrap his feet around a perch and needs his paltform. I will try to attach a photo.

Swollen feet is often caused by a bumble; but usually you see like a black stain on the bottom of the foot. Since you didn't; the second guess would be an infectous arthritis type thing. Either way, a shot of LA200 in the leg will probably clear it right up.

Yes, I was thinking of some kind of tendonitis thing. He is extremely heavy and not yet full grown. I have been told he is a "meat turkey" and bred to gain weight fast. I know he does gorge himself and that's why I separated him. He definitely is doing better on the limited diet.
