Runner duck with a green bill

my fawn and white runner got the freckles on his bill too. They looked purple at first and freaked me out, (like your ducks, but a different color). No need to worry... just a color change.

Thank you SO SO much everyone! I am so relieved. I have only had Blue Swedish ducks before so I am unaware as to what to expect with runners. Yes, Uggless is a cutie and the boldest one of the bunch. She used to have a sister, Ugg, who was spirited away by a bald eagle in my front yard. I was heartbroken and awed at the same time. Hence the new name of Uggless, for the girl that is left...
You'll never know how de-stressed I am about her now and I will not hesitate to visit this forum often, because you people rock!
Thanks again,
Zinnia

PS: I guess I should let the guy at the feed store know not to use any more bleach, yes?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, please let the guy at the feed store know. Although, it may or may not do any good, at least your conscience will be clear on letting him know. I feel so bad for his poor ducks that he is using bleach on. Oh my God!! Poor things. I just cannot imagine the suffering they are enduring. That is like putting bleach on your upper lip to clean it off. The burining of their nose and lungs must be awful.

I am glad you were able to come here for advice. I have found these forums to be invaluable while raising my ducks. I even read the chicken stuff, although I don't have chickens. LOL

I have learned an incredible amount and feel like a much better duck owner than I would have been without this forum.

Glad you are here. Enjoy your ducks!!

I have a "special duckie" case of my own that no one can figure out... I find it's best to love them for what they are and just make sure they are ok... eating, drinking, etc.

good luck and I hope you find your answers!

One of my runner ducks has a little green on his bill. I honestly think its a grass stain. He loves his free range time and is always puddle-sifting or sticking his billl into wet grass. It doesn't wash off when he swims. I am pretty sure its grass stains.
