California - Northern

I see no one has commented on the Nor Cal thread in many years, at least not that's showing up. I'm in Santa Rosa, an hour north of San Francisco. I am looking for someone who has breeding quality Silver laced Wyandottes, eggs or chicks, available next spring. I have been unhappy with the stock I've gotten from commercial hatcheries.
They are very pretty birds! I hope you find a breeder.

Hey everyone, how are you? What's new?
Southern Calif thread has been slow over the yrs too. But like this Northern thread I get an alert whenever there's a post. Just that I feel so helpless most of the time to help people on these posts... especially newbies.

I hope all who have posted here are well. You just gave me an idea! I think I will create a spreadsheet listing everyone who has posted in the state threads.

I have been good. I keep forgetting what threads I have posted in. I should probably start writing them down and then I can check them out. Happy New year everyone
That is such a great idea to keep track on paper or a journal. Had I known 13 yrs ago how much BYC would be important to me & our birds I should've done the same. Now I've been on so many BYC threads & can't even remember them all to use them as references to lead other people to the ones that will help them :idunno

At first I only lurked on BYC for a couple yrs before actually joining... actually have a best friend pen pal too cuz of BYC... BYC has been invaluable thru the yrs❣️

Our remaining 4 birds ~ one old + 3 young Japanese Silkies ~ we are zoned only for 5 hens/no roo's

We have had 25 chickens of various breeds in 15 total yrs. Our last birds, 3 new Silkies, purchased in 2024 as chicks & picked up at a local NPIP certified private breeder will be our last flock due to my old age :old. We lost 2 older birds end of last yr. These are our last added birds.
