So finally my netting for my GIANT Peafowl Aviary came in. I bought 5 nets that are 50ft by 50ft. This pen is gonna be huge, i can't wait to start. I'll have it done by tuesday hopefully and I'll post tons of pics. My question is, how long do these nets last? I would be devastated to have any birds fly through the netting.

My nets have lasted quite a while, and go through our crappy winters.

Just wondering why you bought so many nets instead of one large net? I know cost is an issue on the larger nets.

With shipping included it was only $201. Which I didn't find was really expensive for five large nets. I can always save the left over netting for the next pen. lol

I have netting 3 years old that still is holding up -- just watch it carefully along the edges - we've found that when it's really windy, the zip ties tend to wear through it & you will get breakage there & those rascals will find it & slip through it in a heartbeat.

I have found out the (knotted) thick mesh works the best. Where the type (pre-formed) is not near as strong or durable whether thick or thin. Hopefully its Knotted since you already have it.
