Ivermectin Dose for Chickens

I have 5mg per ml Ivermectin.
Does anyone know the dose amount for chickens, roos, & chicks?
Im trying to nip a mite outbreak in the but.
DE normally did the trick but this wet warm winter & wet warm spring has cause havoc in my coop!
I have 50ish to treat...

heres the doseage.
1 drop OEGB female
2 drops OEGB male
3 drops average bantams i usually do 4
4 drops large bantam
5 drops most commercial fowl
6 drops giant breeds which I have Brahmas and usually do
and if you want to be able to continue to use the eggs you might want to consider using Epernix pour-on next time. and don't forget the coop too.

You put the drops at the cape of their neck(where the neck meets the body)

Pull the feathers apart so you see exposed skin and put the drops there

(be sure to get the skin and not the feathers or feather shaft ,or it won't get absorbed well)
 
When I dosed all of my chickens a few months ago, I made it easier on myself.. It's difficult to count "drops" so I just did 1cc for large chickens, 1/2 cc for bantams and 1/4 cc for my chicks (they were a few months old but still small and most of them bantam).. 3 days later, mites were gone and I haven't seen one since!

I will also add that I cleaned out every coop and sprayed a fine mist of diluted pymethrin 10% and then when dry, I replaced ALL bedding and sprinkled with Sevin 5%!

The above is a bit heavy by about 25%, but it is in fact the easiest. Ivermectin is fairly safe. The repeat in ten days is mainly for worms, but wont hurt just in case of any stragglers.

The clean out form above is almost a necessity as well. 10% perm. is cheap at TSC and the mix ration is something like 1 oz per quart spray bottle will kill everything in the wood. The sevin dust as a top dressing is what I do as well. I only need one can for a 10x15 area. When they dig around it mixes it up well in the shavings and so they always get a little on their feet.

I agree completely.. I probably did use just a little bit too much but I did a lot of research and found that a lot more would need to be used to overdose them and this was the easiest way to do 2 dozen chickens... I just waited until they were all roosting and did them one by one.. Much easier than trying to catch them all.. lol
