I have seen some confusion with the Blue plumage color so I will try to list the different "Blues" that can found on chicken with pictures and a short description of that Blue.
Try to bare with me this might take some time.

Disclaimer pictures posted were found on the internet and are not my birds

Blue (Bl) (AKA Andalusian Blue)
A Blue Slate color with feathers laced with very dark Blue (lacing should look Black).
Blue to Blue = 50% Blue, 25% Splash, 25% Black
Blue to Splash = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Blue to Black = 50% Blue, 50% Black




Splash
Double dose of Blue (Bl)
Splash to Blue = 50% Blue, 50% Splash
Splash to Black = 100% Blue
Splash to Splash = 100% Splash




Self Blue
A solid even Blue Slate color with NO lacing. This color is sometime referred to as Lavender.




Blue Brassy Back





Blue Golden Duckwing


Blue Mille Fleur

Blue Mottled

Blue Quail



Blue Red



Blue Wheaten


Lemon Blue



Silver Blue

Not Blue per say... but "Opal" should be here as much as Lavender.. I'll find Smokey pics also..

what is "Opal" made of? well so far the guys at the Coop(with some of my help) have suggested that "Opal" could be an allel of recessive white(c) c^Op(proposed by Henk and backed by me)
