Need to make sure that that kind of concoction is kept safely away from other animals that you dont want to harm though, else the same effect will be had by anything else eating it

Can Chickens get any diseases from mice and can they pass that through their eggs? Mine eat mice now and then which always amazes me.

I had i think it was a rat problem in my coop i burried poison in the holes and none of my chickens died or found it. I have a cat that catches moles. My geese and ducks might find mice and play with them until they die but i dont think they eat them. I once unburried a nest of baby mice and my chickens went nuts over them.

There will some amount of mice any were you may be and I know I have had a few but very few.
I keep all my feeders suspended from the ground and keep all my feed in plastic 5 gal paint buckets with lids.
I allow the feed to run empty from the feeders and the the chickens and turkeys will clean most of any spilled food up off the ground.
No food for mice fewer mice.
Now that I have turkeys I haven't seen any evidence of mice around my pens.

Everybody is going to have different problems with there location such as being near seed crops that will draw in mice and rats.
I have a friend that was having problems with mice and snakes and a stray cat came by one day and started killing the mice and the snakes and the Husband noticed this and began to put out a little food for the cat not to keep it fat and happy but to keep the cat around if you feed a cat to much it has no reason to kill and eat the mice or snakes.
The cat will not come near people because it is Ferrel but they didn't want a cat to start with but this arrangement works out for them.

On the farm we always had 2 or 3 ferrel cats that we would see around keeping the rodents and snakes policed up.

I don't know if eating them will do anything mine eat them. it is being around the feces, urine, flees and lice that they transmit disease.
