Speeding it up (What I have personally found is working for me)

Lets turn off some graphics and speed this sucker up.....
Go to your profile and click "edit account details" scroll about 3/4 of the way down to where it says "Site Preferences" and check both of those boxes
Go to "forum preferences" and check every box except the first one.
hit "save" in the lower right.

What we did is turn off as much as the site designers will allow. It does hide the pretty avatars and such.....but nothing is free :)
I measured a 30% increase in load speed.

Great post! Good to have the links to the main browsers AND their newest versions all together!

Another vote for Opera here...especially Opera with the Turbo add-on. I was posting about it last night. Opera Mini is great for those who surf BYC on an iPad or iPhone.
 
I run Chrome and with AdBlock this is what I did to speed things up.

• 1 - I took out the Right Hand "Recent Reviewed" bar.
• 2 - Took out the "Recent Discussion, Reviews, and Articles" bar at the bottom of the page.
• 3 - Took out the BYC Chicken at the top Left Hand side of the page.
• 4 - Took out the Blue Header Bar at the top of the page.
• 5 - Took out the "Current Viewing" bar at the Right Hand side.
• 6 - Closed out Internet.
• 7 - Ran a Clean Up.
• 8 - Ran a Defrag.


Remember the more of the BYC stuff that you have running the slower you computer is going to run because your processor is running hard to process it all. By eliminating some of the fancy stuff the result is a much faster BYC.

Ok, WOW!!!

You've never steered me wrong before, so I just put mini on my iPhone and it is working GREAT!! I'm on it right now!

It would have been nice if they did a mobile version of the site (cough,cough) for smart phone users.....but that is no small task to mirror the site with toned down graphics that auto recognizes when you try to access via mobile. Overall I think the team up there did a great job with a site that grew like this one has.

Not having great luck.
Safari works better for the IPad 2, but it doesn't work great. The intro video doesn't even exist on Safari.

Can't we get a BYC app?

I am EXTREMELY frustrated.
