BYC Now Available On TapaTalk - For Mobile Devices (iPhones, iPads, Tablets, Android, etc.)

We're very excited to announce that BYC is now available via Tapatalk

Tapatalk is a mobile app built specifically for forum access. It provides a very simple and streamlined view for Mobile Devices (iPhones, iPads, Tablets, Android, etc.)

Our long term strategy is to create a fully mobile version of BYC that will run on any device / browser and is application agnostic, but in the interim Tapatalk is something that MANY peeps have requested, and was a quicker way to get better mobile support into our member's hands.

A few notes:

1. Our integration of Tapatalk supports posting new topics, replying to topics, and posting pictures from your phone. It does not currently support Private Messages.
2. Once you have tapatalk, search for "backyardchickens" (all one word) and it will come up!
3. Tapatalk can be used cross any forums that have it enabled, so if you already have tapatalk on your device you'll be able to access BYC on it, or if you get tapatalk to use for BYC, you'll have access to many other forums.
4. Tapatalk may be a paid app (depending on your device)
5. Tapatalk is a "3rd party application" which we don't control, or have access to edit / change, so please keep in mind that there may be some bugs / glitches.

Passing on some info, but I don't remember who shared it first (sorry). You can download tapatalk for free through getjar. Download the getjar app, search for tapatalk, download it for free, then you can delete the getjar app.

I have Windows Vista on a HP Pavalion laptop.........I don't understand this geeky system Taptalk is wanting to download.

You don't have to worry about any of that. That's for the forum administrator here to worry about. All you need is the Tapatalk App for whatever mobile device you are using. So if you're on an Ipad, download the ipad App, if you're on an Iphone get the Iphone app etc. I have an ipad so got mine through the App Store. The downloads page at Tapatalk has different options on it and buttons to take you where you need to go to get it. http://www.tapatalk.com/mobile.php

I would like to know if pictures can be uploaded via Tapatalk using the attachment facility.

When i try it says unknown error 2. It doesn't give me the same options that are available on other forums. Usually I choose forum hosted or Tapatalk hosted. I also get size options atthat point and itnautomatically reduces the size for me. This only has Tapatalk hosted as an option and then the attachment fails. Is it disabled here?

If it is, what is the most practical way of working with pictures via Tapatalk when on this forum?

I tried the getjar thing on my ipad - brings up everything fine but directs me to the apple market to download and pay for it. Maybe I need jailbreak, but that's not out yet. I put it on my android tho!
