Cochin Bantams are the most sweetest docile birds you will ever be around. Great for kids of all ages and 4-H poultry projects as well! I have SEVERAL that are just total pets and follow me around the yard like a dog.
They are my all time favorite bantam! They are great layers, but really prefer being broody or taking care of chicks. We use them to hatch all of our turkey eggs.
The Cochins love getting all the attention on our farm they get a lot of it from us and all who visit!

Gary and I have been raising poultry for over 50 years and strive to raise high quality birds for show or just for pets. All birds on our farm are blood tested Pullorum/Typhoid clean.
We see that our birds are kept happy and healthy by giving them the very best feed and TLC daily! We strive to breed to the Standard of Perfection on each breed we raise and all are purebred and kept in individual breeding pens away from predators. We feed a high quality, high protein all natural game bird breeder pellet with vitamins and minerals in the water daily to insure high fertility. We also feed a little scratch grains, Calf Manna and veggie treats which Gary grows in his garden as well as the old produce we get from our local grocery store.
We LOVE spoiling our birds and it shows! You can see more photos of them on our website below. We are always happy to answer any questions about them and if you see some you like feel free to email me if you wish to place a special order of any variety you might like.

I have Fibromyalgia and can't work. My chickens are my therapy that keep me going, selling a few hatching eggs helps me buy feed for my little feathered loved ones. I gather several times a day to keep the eggs from getting to hot or to cold, to insure they are fresh and fertile for you. They are dated and turned three times a day and stored in a temperature controlled room to assure you the best possible hatch.
All eggs are marked the date they were laid and from which pen they come from and are no more than four days old when shipped. This insures the eggs are stronger to handle the shipping. Free extra eggs might be a few days older, but never older than that. If eggs are over 4 days old and not shipped than I usually keep them to set, but if I don't have room in my incubators then I will gladly send them to you. Eggs are usually fairly clean, but may contain occasional soiling. I do not wash eggs but will brush of excess soiling if present. Washing can contaminate the eggs and may decrease hatch rate.
Eggs are sent 2-3 day Priority Mail, which price includes postage and also covers bubble wrap, tape and gas.
ALL eggs are shipped upright, wrapped individually in a long strip of bubble wrap then nestled and
secured in the center of a Priority Mailing box with LOTS and LOTS of packing!
Box is clearly marked with a sticker that says FRAGILE HATCHING EGGS and box is clearly marked with arrows on the sides to keep box up and labeled LIVE HATCHING EGGS. I've had very good success shipping this way.

I pack and ship the way I would like my eggs shipped!

WE HAVE HAD AN EXCELLENT HATCH RATE HERE ON THE FARM THIS YEAR AND SET EGGS WEEKLY FROM EACH PEN WEEKLY TO KEEP A CHECK ON FERTILITY. WE HAVE HAD GREAT REPORTS FROM OUR SHIPPED EGGS AS WELL, HOWEVER WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR HATCH RATE DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES OUT OF OUR CONTROL. ROUGH POSTAL HANDLING, INCUBATOR MISHAPS AND EVEN DIRTY HANDS TURNING EGGS WILL MAKE PERFECTLY FERTILE EGGS NOT DEVELOP OR HATCH. PURCHASING SHIPPED HATCHING EGGS IS A RISK, SO PLEASE BE UNDERSTANDING AND KNOW THIS WHEN PURCHASING HATCHING EGGS!

Our Cochin Bantam pens as of 12.18.12...

1. ** BLACK/BLUE pen now includes a new Black rooster "Luke" who is a son of "Champ" my show quality Black rooster who has won several awards. With him is 2 Black and 2 Blue hens. All are from my show quality line and are not split with any other color. (Egg code BBC)

2. ** BLACK/BLUE MOTTLED pen now includes a young Blue Mottled cockerel "Smokey" and 3 Blue Mottled pullets that have been laying now for around a month, all I have bred and raised. Along with them are 3 really nice Black Mottled hens. All are really nice type with nice full buns. From this pen you will also get some Splash Mottled chicks as well. Will be splitting pens in 2013 adding a new Black Mottled rooster onto the Black Mottled hens. (Egg code MTC)

3. ** BUFF COLUMBIAN pen includes a young Buff Columbian cockerel "Chewy" with 2 nice Buff Columbian hens. Both I have hatched and raised from a line I developed myself and all are very nice color. (Egg code BFCC)

4. ** BUFF BARRED pen includes a Buff Barred rooster "Nugget" with 4 very nice Buff Barred hens. Nugget is homozygous barred so will throw 100% Buff Barred chicks. (Egg code BBRC)

5. ** CALICO/MILLE *NOTE* Until they are breeding true like the Mille Fleur variety I prefer to call them Calico Milles. I am working towards that color but also more Calico pattering as well. My pen includes a F4 Calico/Mille Fleur rooster "Winchester" with 2- F3 Calico/Mille Fleur Cochin Bantam hens. My rooster and one of the Mille hens came from Lynne Wingshadows Hacienda in CA. She has been working on the Mille Fleur variety in Cochin Bantams for several years and has some awesome birds. I bought the other 2 hens who are hatched from her eggs as well. In the pen now also are 2 new Calico/Mille roosters "Cody and Baron" and 1 Blue Calico cockerel "Pee Wee" and 5 more hens I hatched and raise from all above. Also are 2 Splash pullets that are out of the Blue Calico pen below, chicks from them should be Blue Calico. I have been hatching some really pretty chicks from these all and they by far are my favorites! If you love lots of color then these are the birds for you and they are super sweet as well! Chicks will all be very colorful Calico/Mille and Blue Calico/Mille colored. I will be adding 2 new Mille Cochin Bantam roosters from a new line to my best Mille Fleur variety hens, more info coming in Jan 2013 (Egg code CMC)

6. ** BLUE CALICO/MILLE pen includes a F6 Blue Calico/Mille Fleur cockerel "Dandy Randy" and 3 -F6 Blue Calico/Mille hens, all are out of my Blue Calico rooster "Chester" who is now in the Calico frizzle pen and bred over some Calico hens I bred and raised. Chicks from this pen can come Calico, Blue Calico. (Egg code BCMC)

7. ** BLUE CALICO FRIZZLE pen now includes "Chester" my Blue Calico Calico rooster. I want to breed for Blue Partridge Frizzles and Blue Calico Frizzles so changed him to this pen. With him I have my Frizzle Partridge hen "Precious" and "Penelope" a Calico frizzle I raised from her and the Calico rooster Baron who I was breeding with. I hope to get some. This pen will produce 50/50 straight and frizzled chicks. **I will be happy to leave out the Frizzles in the assortment if you wish so just ask** (Egg code BCFC)

8. ** COLUMBIAN/BLUE COLUMBIAN pen includes a beautiful Blue Columbian rooster "Mojo" with 4 lovely Columbian hens and "Skler" a Blue Columbian hen. These are absolutely stunning birds and another of my favorites. I have been hatching chicks of both colors and working on cleaning them up even more in 2013. (Egg Code CC)

9. ** LAVENDER pen now includes a Lavender rooster I raised from my previous split pen. I bred and raised "Louie" from my show blacks bred from a Lavender rooster I hatched from Bill Cleggs line. In with "Louie" are 2 Black Lavender splits. This pen will produce Black splits and Lavender chicks. (Egg code LC)

10. ** PARTRIDGE pen includes a rooster and 3 hens. "Bo" is a sweet, tiny, beautiful boy and his ladies are just as beautiful as well. I lost all of mine in a flood 3 years ago and been looking for some nice show quality like I had before and finally was lucky enough to find these! (Egg code PC)

11. ** RED pen includes a nice dark mahogany Red rooster "Rusty" with a lovely new lovely red pullet "Hattie" who just started laying. (Egg code RC)

12. ** SILVER LACED pen includes "Bruce Almight 3" and my sweetheart "Lacie". They are two of my favorite birds and are throwing some really nice clean laced chicks. With them now are 4 other pullets I have raised from them and they are all laying really well now. This is one color I really love and working hard on cleaning the color up even more in 2013. (Egg code SLC)

13. ** SILVER PENCILED pen includes a young cockerel "Sterling" and hen "Rhaina" and a young pullet "Silverbelle". I just love this variety and the chicks are just adorable. (Egg code SPC)

14. ** SPLASH pen includes a Splash rooster "Papa Smurf". With him are 3 colorful Splash hens, "Sparkles & Speckles". (Egg code SC)

15. ** WHITE pen includes a nice White rooster "Spike" with his lovely White hen Crystal. (Egg code WC)

Dear luckypickens,

I just wanted to touch base and thank you for your great service. I was shocked at how wee-tiny they were. So cute!! I am happy to report that all 14 eggs arrived safe and sound and that upon candling them today, 11 are developing and show visible blood vessels. Only three are not. At this point, you have done everything within your power to give me a great opportunity to hatch these wonderful birds. I will be leaving positive feedback today. I will keep you posted as we approach hatch just so you know how we did. I think getting 11 viable eggs from the 12 I bought is a super deal. Thank you again.

All the best,
Amy

I hatched out some of these, they are about 3-4 weeks old now, SO CUTE! And so friendly, I like to sit down in the coop and they come running over to jump in my lap and inspect my clothes and hair. I have to be careful not to step on them, they just run around my feet and follow me. I can talk to them and they peep in reply. These little guys are my favorite! tinydancer87

You can see some of these sweet little babies here...

I hatched these from the incredibly lovely Mrs. Pickens on Wednesday last week.
I also hatched some last June... Matlock585

Really beautiful cochins you got there. Good job guys.

I feel so tempted because Cochins are top on my favorite list, but I'm trying to control my hatching addiction. Need to sell some of my flock to make space for new babies. Arrggghhhh so hard.

Thank you for looking at my loving little cochins, but I sure know what you mean! It is hard for me to decide what to sell and what to keep, I hate to sell any of them!

Lucky my daughter and I are so enjoying watching or babies grow up. She has requested I get more eggs. However I will be out of town this weekend.
Would this be possible?

Hi Roslyn!

Not sure if you remember me but I bought eggs from you last year and had a great hatch! Unfortunately I had to sell them all due to a move and I am now ready to start over.
I will give $25.

I am not sure how this new system works so let me know if what I need to do next.

Thank you,
Tony
