Broody Silkie Cross hatching duck eggs

This is my duck eggs candled at 6 1/2 days. I have noticed the eggs are developing on one side on the egg with clear liquid behind (may have slight veins but not clear) - you'll see what I mean in image 2... is this normal? Do they fill the egg as they grow? I'm worried they are stuck. If I look through the veins I can see the embrio I think. I have never candled this early and I am still new to hatching, only ever used an incubator before. any thoughts, are my eggs healthy? The egg in pic 3 is one day younger, this is slightly smaller, as expected.

Number 1 and number 3 look great! You don't have to worry about them getting stuck on the sides, the chicken (I think this is right if I read it right) will do the work! Number 2 doesn't look like it is developing. As the duckling embryo grows and develops it will fill up the rest of the area...it is pretty amazing that it can happen in 4 short weeks...going from a small number of veins to a fully developed duckling! Good luck!

Well the second picture is a side view, they all look like that. I'm guessing they'll fill the cavity as they get bigger. I don't need to turn them do I if a hen is sitting on them? So is that typical of a side view or not in image 2? X

As long as they have veins, they have started....they will fill the cavity as they get bigger. You don't turn them if a hen is sitting on them, the hen will do all of the work. I find that the less interference the better...let nature take it's course :)

Update. All three of my eggs are developing lovely, despite two having a chip and one being left out all night in minus temps! They have grown heaps since I uploaded my candling pics, they have almost filled up about 75% of the egg. Mum is happy. But just to add some more madness to the situation (bearing in mind i am new to this hatching malarcy!) I have another broody hen sitting on a relatives duck eggs, and I am due to add some of his chicken eggs one week after starting (so they all hatch together), so that will be another new thing for me having chicks and ducklings from the same mummy!

So two hens, two sets of duck eggs and one set of chick eggs all due within two weeks of each other... fun fun fun

I just hope the little fellas make it out of their shells and into the big wide world.
