Hey all, One of my little white cochins has bubbles in her eye. Her poop looks normal and she is active and eating and drinking. Her eye was "dirty" after a mud bath, and i tried to gently clear it yesterday, today i noticed some watery bubbles there.

We dont have an avian vet in the area and my only option would be to take her back to the breeder, before i do this. does anyone have any thoughts or advice about what this is/could be? There is no sneezing/raspy breath or wheezing, she smells fine too.

i am so worried about my little girl

Hi Guys and Girls!

Just thought i would post an update.

I took the little girl to an avian vet, who put her on Donycycline and Terra-Cortrill eye drops. She is staying inside the house at night where it is warmer(it is winter here) and being let out to join the flock during the day.

She seems much better, the eyes are not as watery and the black scabs around it have gone. It is still a little bit swollen, but this is only her second day on meds and i think she is much better.

I have started cleaning the feathers around her neck where she wipes her eye, as i wanted o prevent re-infection from the dirty feathers.

Hope she makes a complete recovery and is able to sleep with her chums soon.

Hope all is well with you all in the chicken world.
Andy
