Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums. We bought 2 goslings from a man who was selling poultry 3 weeks ago. He said they were goslings but I doubt it and I think we've been fooled and they are ducklings instead. What do you think?

yes they are ducklings

the bill tells it striaght away

looks like either a campbell and a runner

btw i love picture number 2 its sooooo cute

Thanks silverfox! ;) We love them anyway but the man was charging for the goslings more expensive than the ducklings so we've definitely been fooled.

his dishonesty can get him in trouble

thats classed as larceny

I don't think they are any special breed, but the common ducks we usually see swimming in farms and public ponds.

Somethnig like these

I think I'll ask for my money back but I'm afraid that he might want to take them back and replace them with goslings and now we've loved them and can't give them back to him and their wire cage..

I guess we can't tell their sex apart, can we? Is there a method to sex them? That man told us that the yellow one was a girl and the brownish one was a boy. I can't trust him since he said they were goslings. What do you think?

Here's a video of them both eating and our little yellow bug is also taking a shower.

If they grow up to become like the ducks in my previous post what breed would they be?

Somewhere between 3-6 weeks their voices will change and you will hear as Celtic put it the quack or whasp. Drakes have a soft gravely voice that to me at least, resembles a frog croak. If one is a girl, she will make herself known with a crisp clear quack.
I am really sorry the man who sold you these was SO dishonest. They are super cute ducklings, but to be charged the higher price for a gosling just wasn't right.

Just so you can see the difference, here is a photo of two goslings with ducklings. You will notice how much fuller their bodies seem and their bills are smaller. The second picture is just the goslings and you can see their bills much better. If you click on the pictures they get larger.

Do you mind me asking how much extra he charged you? I agree with the voice sexing. My call ducks are starting to have the distinct difference in sound at 6 weeks.
