Okay, chickens can eat pumpkin guts, how about watermelon/cantaloupe/honeydew etc. seeds and rinds? Thanks! Terri

I've fed all of the above to our chickens at some point in time. They absolutely love them!!! It is a treat for them to eat the left-over parts of the melon off of the rind.

Dido, they love them! I had a lot of melons that did not do well in the drought and only got about bowling ball sized. Perfect for flinging over the fence to the girls.

my chciekn love yellow mellon and water mellon seeds more than the fruit itself so yes they can just make sure they have grit to grind all that down

They love everything - no trace of anything after they polish through it!

When I give my chickens water melon the seeds are the first thing they go for. One time I was eating water melon when the were out and I was spitting out the seeds and they were picking them up like they were a dog begging:) I also give them cantaloupe and they love them. I think they can eat all kinds of melon

I give the melon guts and rinds -- they'll eat them down to the thinnest peel (and will eat the peel if it isn't too tough...) Also, pepper innards. They love pepper seeds and don't care at all whether it's a bell or a jalapeno.

Thanks for the advice! I just cut up a muskmelon and a honeydew melon so I will take the rinds and insides right out to my girls! They should stay busy for awhile with that!!
