Got home from school and was afraid to look at the chicks, but HERE THEY ARE!! They are walking fine, eating and drinking. Mama has calmed down too. You can bet I will be very careful as to where I put my feet from now on......Thanks for all the kind words..... What would you name them????

I finally got some pics of my Isabella Marans (lavender). These are NOT very good and the lighting isn't either. It's hard to capture the lavender color. I have one hen much darker and I REALLY like her best. Now just to wait till they start laying.

Not very good but hopefully give you an idea

















they have not started laying yet. You can see my only roo in here. He has NO clue what his job is.

RIP Spike:



He had turned into a very good Rooster...he took care of the girls
and was polite to me and my husband. He is missed already.

He was "not right" for several days and I went to pick him up today and he was having serious trouble breathing.
I think he had gapeworm. He died in my arms. but I am glad because I saw what was going on so now I know to treat the other chickens.

off to try and figure out where I can get a different wormer.
do you need a prescription for Levamisole?
