I just noticed this a few minutes ago. No discharge, no change in behavior. She doesnt seem to want to look out that eye though. Is it an abscess?

Took a few more pictures. There is just a little froth or bubbling next to her inner eye. Is this influenza? It looks early on, what can i do to stop it? We are in for a blizzard warning, so there wont be any leaving here for a good long while, at least 2 days. I will need homeopathic remedies until I can buy some new antibiotics.

The bubbles are gone today, but there is still some swelling around the eye, but its less then yesterday. I use Visine Antihistamine drops, and it seems to have helped a little. I will re-apply later this morning. The blizzard outside is making everything dark.

Sometimes they get bubbles in their eyes from respiratory type infections. Its hard to know what to give them when you don't know the specific organism that causes it. You could try Tylan50 give 1 cc into the breast muscle or some people inject it into the skin on the back of their neck. I do it in the breast. You give it 3 day in a row. Switch breasts each day.
I get mine at tractor supply co. they also sell the syringes etc.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, Im stumped with whats going on here. She is not lethargic. She is laying still. She isnt coughing, wheezing or sneezing. No nasal discharge, no gasping. Just a swelling of the eye. There is some white around the front corner under the skin. I tried to get a look at it, but she would not have it. It almost looks like a little white node, or tiny white pea. I was wondering if it might be an abscess. Maybe she got poked in the eye?

Tomorrow I might try and get out of the snow tomorrow and see if i can make it into town. its an hour away. We dont ahve a TSC here. I'll have to see if i can get some injectible antibiotic. if not, Ill have to buy oral.

I had the same thing happen to two of my birds when it started to get colder. Swollen eyes with a bit of bubbles. I took one to the vet but didn't have any of the testing done. Pointless, I know. The vet gave me some Tylan powder to put in their water, though. I started with the recommended dose of Tylan but after no improvement in 2 weeks (two VERY frustrating weeks), I doubled the dose. It was gone in a week after that. Three weeks is a long time to keep two bored chickens in a bathtub. Hopefully you'll be able to clear it up faster than I did.

Good luck!
