I'm so sorry you had to put him down, but you had to make the best decision you could with the information you had at hand.





That was also the first I'd heard of canker and truly it looked to me like the photos as well.

Whew....I'm glad you weren't dealing with something contagious. Poor boy...sounds like, with the massive fissure going deep into the jaw joint, it was pretty unlikely you'd have been able to get it to heal. Sigh. Thanks for posting & sharing the findings.

Did your final report include cultures and sensitivities? If so, what was the bacteria and what drugs was it sensitive to? Just curious, I have a couple that look like that and I believe they might have secondary infections from pox and not canker or wet pox like I originally thought.
