I have a silkie with crop problems. She was very lethargic and not moving. This has gone on for several months. We were able to empty the crop on several different occasions and gave her some mineral water. She is doing very good now. Very energetic and eating. The problem is that she has pendulum looking crop. It's huge and shakes back and forth when she walks. A vet has said that it's probably damaged from all the expansion. I was just curious if anyone else has had issues like this. Thanks!

The vet is right. The nerves get damaged in the crop along with it being stretched out for too long. Makes it a pendulous crop. The problem with a pendulous crop is that it will never empty properly now. I would recommend a crop bra for her. It will help keep the crop in place and allow it to empty properly and she will be more comfortable.
