My Daisy is one week shy of a year old and has been going through an extended molt, during which she has been eating less and lost some weight. She is the top of the pecking order and definitely the alpha Chick, always fighting for food and bossing everyone around. But, lately she has been lethargic and eating less. But, she still runs out to greet me every morning! I noticed how huge her crop was a few days ago, and it felt as hard as a rock (about the size of a baseball). I read up on impacted crop and did warm compresses, massages, put her up with no food but war water with electrolytes, and gave her some coconut oil the first day. Yesterday, she passed 3-4 diarrhea poops, but her crop is still big (though not rock hard anymore). Today, she acted more normal, but the crop is still about he same size (but not hard). She has that sour smell and the crop doesn't seem to be getting smaller. We are going out of town for Thanksgiving on Friday, and I'm so worried about herl any other suggestions? There are no chicken vets nearby...
