We are getting some American Buff goslings this spring, and are starting to plan
the Goose coop & area. We currently keep a small group of Welsh Harlequin ducks, and are wondering if Geese & Ducks can share the same coop, or would it be better to
have separate quarters for the Geese? Anyone here keep Geese & ducks together?

I have kept them together. Right now with breeding season about start here mine are separate. My gander might really hurt one of the ducks as he is so protective of his mate. This summer they will be together again as well as our chickens while in the pasture. They do get separated at night.

we have a larger flock of laying ducks and got our first pair of geese to protect the ducks from hawks. The weird thing is the ducks do the mating dance around the gander, and then crouch in front of him! He's been seen once trying to climb a board, so I think ideally we'd keep the geese separate during breeding season. Still learning as we go!

Right now my 8 Buff Orpington ducks are housed in my goose house, which has 12 geese in it. They are in a stall with four of them. There is some picking/bullying, but nothing to be concerned about. Be careful tho, geese can easily kill ducks.

I keep a pair of geese in each of my duck coops. The Toulouse don't seem to bully the 10 ducks they live with now that breeding season is in full swing.
My Pomeranians have to be blocked off from the ducks 7 ducks they live with until breeding season is over. They get along great with them most of the year, but get very protective of their space now that breeding season is here.

Good luck!

Our ducks have come to love our lonely goose. They hang together and have now left the chickens to be with the goose.

Oh yes my ducks will stay in the pool for my gander. but if I see him going that way I stop him. crazy girls. and they have drakes.

I've always kept my 4 Embdens with my ducks. I have a tiny little Call duck that mouths off to my gander all the time. x)

For the most part, the geese leave the ducks alone...in my experience. They usually all waddle along in the yard together, but there's no bullying, and I've never seen my gander bother my ducks during breeding season. Then again...he never even really pays attention to the geese during the season... Hence my lack of fertile goose eggs. xD

My gander has never been aggressive with my ducks. However he does not allow any breeding in his presence, at any time of year. He will separate chickens and ducks who are being "frisky". He has never actually touched any of them that I am aware of, they break up when they hear him coming.
