Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on lately. But I was walking outside with Quackers about 4 days ago and I noticed she was limping!!! I thought maybe she got a sticker or something so I didn't really think about it that much. when she was limping the second day as well I started to worry and I had my dad pick her up for me so I could look and I could see "sores" on both her feet. The one on her right back pad seems the worst but she has them on her toes on the left foot (and on her back pad). Since then I've been trying to figure out what to do to help. When she limps it upsets me because she has no way to tell me if she's in pain or not but it still looks like she is and I don't know how to help so I feel like I'm letting her down and I can't take that.
I cleaned her feet and took pictures so you could see.
The ones on her pads look like black callouses. The ones on her toes are normally colored and they are flat and swollen with a small circle or dot in the middle.
So whats wrong and how can I help? Also is it bumblefoot maybe?

I got some vet wrap (gauze roll), Neosporin, and Epsom salt. I am going to soak her feet in the Epsom salt solution, dry them, put Neosporin on it, and wrap it in gauze. Then I will keep her in her cage (instead of free-roaming) until it gets better to prevent it from getting infected. I will take her out when I'm out their with her and let her swim in her pool. Does tat all sound good? Should I pick at the "scab" so it will drain infection (if any) and so the Neosporin will be able to go inside and heal quicker?

Looks like it could be the beginning of bumble, soaking her feet 2X a day may help and keeping her in as clean an area as you can using the neo and vet wrap, be sure not to let her drink the ES water it works as a laxative, if you don't see improvement in about 3-4 days then you may want to order some of this... https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/513183/treating-bumblefoot-with-tricide-neo

Ditto Miss Lydia. PetDuck, you are doing what I have done in similar situations, and it began to clear up within two days. But it takes several weeks to completely clear it up. I wanted to tell you about my experience so you won't be discouraged or stop treatment too soon.

Oh, and I would not pick the scab - the neosporin will soak into the foot just a little bit without opening the wound and risking more infection. The Epsom salts soaks in a bit, too.

She is still limping but I soaked it in the ES water solution, slathered anti-biotic (Neosporin) all over her feet. I was going to wrap both feet but the worst one is her right pad so I wrapped around her ankle (missing the hallux) and her pad. When I tried to wrap her left foot I wanted to wrap her whole foot because unlike the right foot she had several sores as you can see in the picture but I didn't know how to wrap the whole foot without squeezing her toes together. I wanted her to be able to walk comfortably and she became distressed when I wrapped her whole left foot and squeezed her toes together so I stopped and took it off. I will continue to soak her feet, put new A-B (anti-biotic) cream, then put a new wrap on her foot x2's a day so it will stay clean and healthy. I will post pictures of the wrapped foot tomorrow.
Is there anyway to wrap her whole left foot with out squeezing the toes together? Is it okay if I just keep putting A-B cream on and not wrapping the left foot like I did tonight?

Thanks-A-Million as always,
PetDuck

One advantage to not cutting the bumbles is that wrapping the foot is not necessary, in my experience.

So keep up with the soaks and the antibiotic ointment, and that should do it - it has worked for me.

Most important is too keep up the soaking till it is cleared up. and like Amiga said no need to put dressing on as long as there is not an open wound.

The reason I put wrap on the right foot's pad is because it had a small spot of blood on it. But day two of treatment and everything's going great! As always thanks for all your help guys, I really do appreciate it a lot! :)
