Clavamox source!

Unless the bird was looking like it was going to die, I would use Clavamox instead of Baytril, but if it were on deaths door, it would be Baytril.

Watch those expiration dates on the Clavamox liquid suspension, I do believe that they have a very short shelf-life after being mixed. The Clavamox I use is in pill form, so it doesn't expire as quickly.

FWIW, I use Baytril 10% on my cats and it usually cures respiratory infections in 3-5 days. Just remember that cats should never have more than 5mg/kg (.05ml per 2.2 pounds) as it can cause blindness.

My feral cats have to be treated by injection. If I tried pills I would have to treat myself for several days afterward. One funny thing about my barn cats is that they do line up for flea drops. My normal cats hate the smell of the drops. The feral cats recognize it for the relief it provides.

The vet I got the Clavamox from just said "oh, a week or so" and that was it. I'm not going back to him for several reasons, but he doesn't seem to put much thought into his chicken care.
