I just had to throw a post about my beautiful girl Genie! I took her chicks away early on (for their own protection), but after 2 weeks apart she's picked up on motherhood like nothing ever happened! She's so patient, kind, and happy too! I'm elated! Today my husband asked me, " Who's happier, you or Genie?!" AHAHA!

This VVVV is the girls first time eating yogurt...

... under mamas watchful eye.

This is where the patience came into play... they took turns jumping on and off of her!

The local feed store has only had them once in the last year & a half so when they did I had to go for it! I'm so glad to have her and I'm very happy that she's given us more beautiful Silkies! I love the breed!! So kind, and very pet-like. She was my one of the first chickens I've ever owned and she didn't start to lay until recently. I was half scared.

Then I got two 3 month Light Brahmas and she took them under her wing like nobody's business so I knew she'd be a good mom.

Hey I see you joined only this month, also! Yay! Are you a seasoned keeper or a newb? I'm a newbie to the game, but I'm in for the long haul now that I've fallen in love! haha!

I hope you're able to find some Silkies of your own. They're the best! I'm very eager to find some good Easter Eggers, myself.

Looks like both mamas are happy! Congratulations on your new additions!

As far as I know she's a Silkie, but I'm a newb too. haha! Today I got my meal worms in the mail! We fed quiet a few of them to the chicks and to the hens... everyone had a field day!!!
