Experiment Starting Soon!!!

Going to incubate a couple of chicken eggs under the heat lamp of a brooder.

My Brooder is capable of reaching and holding 100 degrees so i am going to place a few fertile chicken eggs under the lamp soon to see how it goes. I will also probably cover the eggs in feathers to make things a bit more natural. However, i haven't figured out what to do for humidity for days 18+. other than that, my house is naturally around 40%

Where i need your help: All of the support would be great as far as info and ideas!!! It would be cool if someone could donate the eggs but if not, that won't detour me (pm if you are interested in helping)!!

Lets get started: Im hoping to start as soon as i get the chance to be able to do everything. Im guessing maybe in the time frame from April 5- April 10.

PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THIS THREAD! NEED ALL THE HELP I CANT GET. IT IS GOING TO BE SIMILAR TO THE NATURAL INCUBATION EXPERIMENT THREAD!!!!!

I almost have the brooder at the correct temperature! Just gotta lower the lamp a bit. anyone with me

Is it ok that my brooder will be at 101 degrees for the other chicks that will arrive soon I have a whole 'nother section so its not like they have to be directly in the heat. do you think they'll move depending on how hot they are?
Heres a pic of the brooder

The eggs would be blocked off in the bottom right corner:

Hmm. Interesting question. Do you have another setup that you could move the chcicks too if it is too hot? If so I would try it and see how they react. I'm assuming they would be fine as long as they could ecscaoe it. I mean the survive in the summer tempos that high...

No, unfortuantely i don't have any other place to keep them. I agree though, as long as they escape the heat they should be fine

Maybe get a big rubbermaid tote and a small lamp just in case? Thats what I use for my brooders. I think if i keep breeding I may upgrade to one of the huge metal buckets (like they use at feed stores for chicks)
