Repotted the Alien plant today! (Monanthes polyphylla), they grow outwards very fast, by the end of summer she will probably have filled this bowl!...

Ohhh they still look so cool and funky :love ! Fast growers, huh?

Ugh can’t wait until my haworthia looks like that! She’s been growing…steadily:rolleyes:.
I love slow growers, I really do, but sometimes it would be nice to have a really fast growing one in the collection.
You turn away for one second, and the next, bang, Jack’s bean stalk, you know:lol:?

Give your Haworthia time, mine is 7 or 8 years old. I think it's getting pot bound too and I have no idea what to repot it in, that's a 12" pot it's in now! 🤔

All my cacti are pretty slow growers, but the succulents seem to move pretty quick. That's a 4" pot on the Alien plant, I think it will fill that pot out by summers end. They grow wider than they do deeper.

You need more Euphorbias, holy crow, I've had these two since early fall, the Ferox, the first pic, it has doubled in size! The second photo, look at all the babies just popping out, 6 on this side, 4 more on the other, they just appeared in the last few weeks!

I honestly can’t help with any potting ideas, but hey, the current one looks great, so I’m sure you’ll find something amazing to repot:oops:. It’s a plant that just screams rustic to me.

I do need more euphorbia (have three currently), and WOW that is a pretty ferox!
They’re possibly my fastest growers here as well. Amazing genus.

What’s the second one? Fruticosa?

Should probably get another milii at some point, she was a beauty.
Or a polygona…:drool

I should probably shut up:p. Spring stock is here in the online nursery I buy from, and I’m looking at a whole bunch of plants! Stapelia hirsuta are back in stock, and I want to get another because mine are not doing great.
I have to remind myself that I’m attending the plant expo this year, and I’ll bring home more than enough plants!

You definitely need to get more Stapelias, they are such interesting plants! I've purchased plants too that I desperately want to try, but just don't work out. Some of these plants are incredibly picky about the temp and humidity levels, light, just everything. I had a couple of plants I had to keep near the wood stove all winter because temps below 68F/20C had them turning purple. They are doing fabulous now, I'm glad I figured out what they needed.

The second Euphorbia is an anoplia. As you see it's been flowering all winter long! It's about done now though. It's just going to town on enjoying itself. I am really hooked on Euphorbias and want a few more varieties. My Obesa has been flowering non stop since last summer, it's growing like crazy too! They are such an easy fun plant to keep. You need more Euphorbias!! 🥰

Yup, I do!
Yeah, some are very picky about their wants and needs, but it’s fine. A few in the collection complained about our temps as well (imagine!), but I ignored them.

Cool species, thanks! Will have to look up if either is in stock.
Such a cool genus! Very easy to keep as well, as you say.

How do you feel about adenium? Desert rose, is the common name I believe

The adenium are gorgeous plants! Unfortunately I do not own one but wow, they are so pretty! Are you considering getting one? You should!! 🥰

They are, aren’t they?
Not sure on my thoughts. I think they’re gorgeous. I also think the collection is lacking in spiked plants, so adding one with leaves wouldn’t be the move. I hear they are crazy hard to keep alive.
I’m also not sure about the whole toxicity thing. Don’t think they’re any different to say euphorbia, but the dogs are notorious for putting their muzzles where they don’t belong, and I don’t want to risk it

They also get really big too. I am cramped for space as it is. I love the way they grow though, their thick trunks and flowers. 🌺 However yes they are toxic. I may still keep my eyes open looking for one! 🥰
