Safeguard????

Adding safeguard liquid goat wormer to water dilutes the wormers effectiveness. Also it doesnt mix well in water and settles. I recommend that you give it orally undiluted to each chicken using a syringe without a needle.

there was worms in my hens poop this morning. about a wek ago she started limping then stumbling now she is down. could this be cause of the worms. she has been on corid and wazzine since Friday. should I give her safe guard for goats or something els?

Wazine is only supposed to be given for 24 hours. Since it sounds like she is overloaded with roundworms and wazine acts like a flush...she may be experiencing toxic dead worm overload. Stop the wazine and corid and wait several days before giving the the safeguard liquid goat wormer. Give her buttermilk mixed with scrambled eggs for the next 3 days, then worm her with the safeguard the 4th day, 1/2cc undiluted given to her and the rest of your chickens.

so did I do wrong by giving her the wazzine for that many days? the worms were alive. the Alabama ag man was the one who told me to do all that med for 5 days.

The Alabama AG man was correct about corid dosing for 5 days, but not the wazine. You might want to read the directions on wazine bottle. Worms cannot survive outside the host. The worms you saw were dying. I recommend that you follow the directions in post #6 to clear out worm excrement in the hens digestive tract. Good luck.
