The Pita Pinta Asturiana chicken is a dual purpose breed indigenous to the principality of Asturias in north-western Spain. Pita Pinta are on the endangered breed list in Spain and are very rare here in the United States. The purpose of this thread is to share information and photos of this beautiful breed. There are several breeders here in California who are just starting their Pita Pinta breeding programs. It is my hope that we can help each other in this endeavor as well as network with other Pita Pinta breeders in the US and other countries.

Thanks for starting this thread!

I will be posting pictures.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone else's pics! I am planning on posting links to all the Pita Pinta websites and articles that I have found. It would also be good to post any faults that crop up in our breeding so we can all be aware of them and watch for them in our own flocks. I am also hoping that there are more Pita Pinta breeders here in the US than the 7 that I know of here in California. Please chime in if you know of any other breeders or if you are a Pita Pinta breeder who doesn't know me!

I know that there is some concern over White vs Yellow legs (especially for the boys) My 2 currently have yellow spotted legs.
