Hello! This is my first ever post after months of lurking as a non member!
I have a small mixed flock.
These are my believed americuanas (no Tufts/moustache)
I'm aware it's hard to sex from birth.. I hatched these from an egg in April this year and there still not laying ... Can anyone tell...
Considering buying Double tufted rumpless Araucana golden duckwing rooster. If I breed him with my girls what would offspring look like and what color would their eggs be.

My 10-month old Aracauna “calendar girl” was supposed to attend the French Aracauna championships this month but is banned from competing because her right ear tuft is missing. :(
Another hen pulled the feathers out last fall and while she has successfully molted and has a lovely new “coat”...
I have 4 chicks that are about 4 weeks old and would love to see if anyone had any ideas about whether they’re hens or roosters! I know 4 weeks might be too early but the suspense is killing me and I have no idea about sexing chicks so thought I’d see if anyone had any ideas! We have two...
Can someone please tell me if they know the proper dosage of fenbenazole to administer to a ~200g, 1-month old aracauna chick? Our vets have no proper idea, and seem to rather suggest euthanasia. The bird isn't ill enough yet to go that far in my opinion, I want desperately to try to save it...
So, I have this Aracauna (Australian) x Silkie chick around seven weeks old. Can you tell whether it’s a boy or girl yet? Sorry about the photo it’s the best one I have!
I have a few chicks to which I am unsure of gender. A barred rock, aracauna, blue or splash australorp, gold laced wyandotte, silver laced wyandotte and gold laced barnevelder. Please see below images.

I can’t see a dang thing in the grocery store blue or Maran eggs, so I just left them in. I pulled one blue egg that was clearly infertile, but the others I really can’t tell. 🤷♀️
here is the blue one that was definitely infertile
the rest look a bit like this, and I can’t tell if there’s...
One of my chicks is about two weeks old and had a bit of pooo crusted to her foot. I figured it would come off. About a week later it looks like chunks of skin are coming off. I put triple antibiotic ointment yesterday and soaked her in water today.
New here and almost ready to go! I'm looking for any locals that have chickens for sale. I'm building the run, nesting boxes and hoping to be ready very soon. I'm a mother of 5 and loving life..DH and I have a tiny parcel on the outskirts of town and its the life I've always dreamed of. Country...
Hi all!
We bought some older chicks at Cal Ranch yesterday and this girl was listed as an aracauna (which I know really would be an Easter Egger buying at the store like we did )
However, the associate said she thought she she was mislabeled and was actually a golden sex link.
I really do think...
This is my first time raising chicks and they’re still alive at 5 weeks!
I have only one aracauna in this batch and it has grown much faster and feathered sooner than the others. Today I also noticed her/he trying to peck at me as I held each of them in turn for inspection. Just wondering if...
Impatient chick mama here. I’ve got 6 and they’re all 2-3 weeks old. I know... early days. I’m in a city that doesn’t allow roosters so the sooner I can sort them out, the better!
I THINK I have 2 Mille fleur d’uccles, 1 Amber white, 1 silver sebright, 1 araucana, and one ?????
Would LOVE some...
So I have an Aracuna who has up untill recently been a good layer. She has now started to drop her eggs from her perch and they are super soft and she is eating them. I have given her lots of oyster grit and good feed. I was thinking maybe of supplementing her with vitamins. How do I stop her...
Hi,
I was needing helping telling the breed of my chicks. I am supposed to have two lavender Araucana chicks but their was a chance that one was a Orpington. The chicks are all between 2-3 weeks old. Though the chick in the first photo will be about a week older than the chick in the second photo.
