Fertile or not?

I can’t see a dang thing in the grocery store blue or Maran eggs, so I just left them in. I pulled one blue egg that was clearly infertile, but the others I really can’t tell.

the rest look a bit like this, and I can’t tell if there’s veins or an embryo or anything, because it’s too dark to see!

I figure I’ll just wait til the end of the first hatch to pull anymore, because it will be day 10-11, and there should be clear development by then.
If they don’t stink, I’ll probably just leave them until day 18, at which point I should be able to see that any developing chicks have filled the shell.

jury is still out! Thoughts on fertility from anyone experienced with candling/hatching darker shelled eggs?

I had such an egg on day 7 and thougt there would be no development. I candeld them again on day 10 to be sure and what a surprise there was quite some movement to see.

Edit: when there is no smell I give them a few more days
