Hello Everyone.
I have an 11 month old Buff Orpington named Tiny-tiniest of our flock of four BO hens.
Nine days ago she started having diarrhea, and same day other chickens pulled out her messy rear end fluff before I noticed what was happening.
She eats grass and her regular feed-layer crumble...
Today I was walking up the driveway and I saw some bloody stool in front of the coop. What may have caused this? A couple of weeks ago I saw some stool similar to this but I didn't think much of it. The budget is pretty tight at the moment but I'll get some wormer as soon as possible. I have...
Hi All -
Been monitoring this one RIR of my three for about a week now but seemed a bit off maybe starting a few days before that. The 3 birds are right at a year old and have been reliable egg layers since mid-winter (dropping off during cold spells then starting up again).
So about a week...
Good morning! I'm new at raising chickens, and am in panic mode.
I have 2 day old chicks. Just picked them up yesterday. Today one is lethargic, can barely stand, and her poop is mostly pink urine (blood?)
I have separated her from her buddies into a shoebox sized box but have no idea what to...
My sister has recieved an email from a friend with chickens who says that her chicken "marshmallow" is sick. She says that she has bloody poop. My sis is asking if there are any other symptoms. We thought it could be worms or coccidosis. Any help on what to do and what it might be?
1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Her name is Luna. She is approximately 5 months old. She is a black silkie. I don't know her weight.
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She seems to be eating and drinking fine. She just...
A couple days ago I noticed my EE was lethargic. She also had runny poops that were green and sometimes yellow. I brought her inside yesterday along with her sister that never leaves her side. She wasn't eating but was drinking.
During the night she would just cluck every once and a while...
Sunday I saw the first bloody stool in my indoor brooder. I immediately started using Corid in the water.
Backing up a bit. My chicks have been relatively healthy in my opinion. All eating, drinking well, playing, scratching. I've kept them indoors, until about 3 weeks of age. When they...
Hello All ~
We have raised laying hens for more then 5 years and have never had any problems with cocci. We decided to give broilers a try so we ordered 20. They were all looking good, but this morning during chores I saw some blood in a couple droppings. Could this be cocci ? The odd thing is...
Hi there, first let me apologize if this isn't an "Emergency" -- I don't know if it is or isn't so I'm being cautious.
I've just brought home 3 new week old Welsummer chicks. They are eating and moving about but I have just witnessed the male poop and it looked odd. Photos below of the male's...
