We currently have a 4 year old lavender orpington hen (Little One) with a wound on her head. It looks to be under and around her comb, and it won't stop bleeding. I'm assuming she got it from roosters being too rough mating with her. She is not injured anywhere else, I found her...
Just noticed this morning my chickens comb is half way off, its not dangling, but separated from her head. There's some dried blood on her head but other than that she seems okay, doesn't seem in pain and acting normal. I've read I should cut it off, but I just can't bring myself to do it...

I clean it with chlorhexidine solution n apply neosporin cream twice daily but one the wounded area has turned something like blue or purple can't exactly say what color but it has foul smell .. and there's no pus or anything ..
