Below are some photos of my current flock of 6. We just lost our RIR and are hoping to add 2 new hens to the flock in the fall or spring. I love having a variety of colors in my flock, while still keeping my other wants/needs in mind (non-broody, cold hardy, non-production layer if possible)...
This (11 wk old) cockerel is from a Jubilee Orpington rooster and a (maybe? mix?) black wynadotte/Orpington hen (last pic, she carries the mottling gene and has produced some black with white mottling chicks). He was very slow to feather, and his feathers are as iridescent as they look in the...
Hey all!
I got some Silkies at an auction this weekend and not much is know about besides I’m pretty sure I have a hen and a roo for the darker colouring I got. I’m just not too sure what that colouring is?
Hoping some others could help me decide if they are Silver Partridge or maybe...
Hi! I'm new here. I hope this is the right place to post! I have two 10-week-old pullets that I bought as Green Queens. I'm super interested in the patterns they carry and would love to learn more. One (Te Kā) I recognize the crest as a cream legbar mix but her coloring was not typical of the...
Hello All,
I got three of these LF cochins from TSC. They are about a week old now. I am trying to discern the color pattern. I am starting to lean toward Partridge, but thought I would see what others think.
Don't mind the random Silver Laced Wyandotte in one photo, the store had a min of 4...
I bought 4 straight run chicks that were sold as Blue Laced Wyandottes, but I am seeing two different feather patterns emerging!
Are they the BL Wynadotte and it is just the male and female feather patterns? Or is it a different Wynadotte breed?
This is my first time having Wynadotte btw 😀...
I’m pretty sure she is an Americauna but I don’t know the name of her feather pattern. I want more like her (her sister passed away, she needs a buddy or 5) 😊
Any suggestions on the name, how to order or where to order live chicks like her would be greatly appreciated.
Hey! New to chickens. We went a little crazy buying chicks and now I’m trying to ID what we have. I know the barred Rocks and buff Orpingtons and of course the GIANT meat birds 😳,but can someone help me with these others? And/or tell me what the feather pattern is called?
Thanks!
