Hi! I'm new here. I hope this is the right place to post! I have two 10-week-old pullets that I bought as Green Queens. I'm super interested in the patterns they carry and would love to learn more. One (Te Kā) I recognize the crest as a cream legbar mix but her coloring was not typical of the breed as a chick so I'm certain she's not a purebred CLB. The other (Posey) looks very similar to my Ameraucana with the muff, but someone suggested crele patterning and I'm not confident enough to know if that's accurate.

The crested one is probably not a green queen at all. That hybrid uses Salmon Faverolles as one parent, and then a colored layer as the other, and they should have 5 toes and feathered legs, and shouldn't have yellow legs. I've never seen a crested one, either. The other could be a green queen.

Both show mixed coloring because all types of Easter eggers are mixes. Their coloring doesn't resemble any pure color variety. But they both are gold based rather than silver based. That's about all I can say about them. I see no indication of barring for the one to be crele.

If you're really interested in color patterns then I suggest reading up. Storey's Illustrated Guide to Poultry Breeds by Carol Eckarius is a book I can recommend, because it has a color guide at the beginning of the book that shows all pure color varieties and photographic examples of them. I got mine at Goodwill. You could probably find a used copy on Amazon for a good price.
