I'm posting again lol for help with my light brahmas. They look so much different. I'm wanting a rooster, hopefully the one ine the first picture is one. It still has a fluffy tail, no actual tail feathers yet. The other one has tail feathers. They're around 8 weeks old
I know they are very young still approx 3 weeks old but I noticed 2 are noticeably larger than the other 3. Has anyone that raised these before noticed that the larger ones were roosters ? I’m hoping to have 2 roosters anyways so it won’t be a bad thing! The tail also looks bigger already .
These are my 6 chicks. They are about 8 weeks old. Back yard mixes. I have my suspicions about some of them sex wise. Just want a second opinion before I return some of them. Breed is just for fun I know they are mixes so nothing will be accurate. Double points for anyone who can guess who is...
Hello,
I have one hen that has had fluffy back feathers for maybe a month now. I routinely check her for lice and the q-tip looking egg bundles, but I haven't seen anything of the sort. The feather shafts look normal and my other birds are fine. She does seem a bit smaller/lighter weight than...
Hello, I am inquiring about buying a silkie hen in San Antonio texas (preferably) I also would prefer either a white or a painted hen as I have way too many black silkie chickens. My dear Metal had tragically passed away and while no hen will ever be the same, I still want to have another one...
I have 3 7 week old chickens I need help sexing. I'm pretty sure the brown one is female. The two light brahmas im unsure of. The middle chicken looks different than their sibling. Comb is different and wattles are more red. I know it's still early just wanna see if anyone has any opinions.
I’m suspecting two of my supposed pullets could be roosters. Could anyone help me?! They are almost eight weeks old. Blue jersey giant and buff Orpington
My hen is currently not eating or drinking. She goes and lays on egg box when their is no need to lay. She is also having diarrhea every time she poops.
Hi all!
Still trying to figure out what is going on in my flock, and with one hen in particular. Here is the breakdown…
I have a flock of 4 (2 hatch-mate pairs that stick together) that have been living peacefully together for almost 9 months:
11 mo. Rooster - Winnie
11 mo. Hen, non laying -...
Good morning, does anyone know what is going on with my duck’s toe? She doesn’t bumblefoot but her toe suddenly swelled up a few days ago. I tried feeling it to see if it was broken, but it seems like she can bend her toe ok, but she flinches when I touch it. I’m not sure what happened. Any...
Beginner with chickens (my neighbor had to give them up and could find anyone). Anyone know the breeds or possible age? Thank you inadvance! This site has been great to learn about the best way to care for our new babies!
Hello! We have a broody hen that is sitting on some eggs (all good there!), but when she gets up to eat/drink once a day another hen races in and eats as many eggs as she can before the broody one gets back. We keep replacing the eggs for our broody girl, but at this point it’s getting...
My sweet ducks were purchased last spring from the Cayuga duck bin at a local Tractor Supply.
I know that ducks can be pet quality etc. But I have a feeling my male is not full Cayuga. I mean, maybe? These are my first ducks! I am hatching there ducklings are black, black footed (so far), and...
Hi, I really need some advice!
My chickens eggs are currently on day 13, and I just checked my incubator and saw the temperature is at 22c and 56 humidity. I last checked my eggs 12/16hrs ago and the temperature was at 37.6 and humidity 45. So, my eggs could have been sat in 22c temperature...
To give context, this morning all the hens and roosters were perfectly fine (as far as I could tell) and I hadn't noticed anything up until today either (I check them over daily).
However, I went out this afternoon to find one of my broody hens laying on the floor of the coop. I didn't think to...
Hi All,
I have two lovely 5 year old hens (approaching 6 this August) that need rehoming rather quickly. Unfortunately, my family and I will be moving and are unable to take our girls with us 😭. I really would like to find a loving home for them in the area where they can live their lives...
Please help :(( I joined this site in desperate help for my hen, Yoli. She is very weak, mostly lays down and when she tries to walk she tends to fall. She hasn’t been eating the best the past two days nor drinking water. She tries eating and drinking on her own but she gets too tired or falls...
