Not an emergency, but topic best fits this thread since I don't know what this is:
I have 14 chickens total, 3 roosters & 11 hens. I check 1-2 chickens rotating, daily for bugs, visual signs of illness or injury. I dont have the time or energy to check all 14 all the time, and don't want to...
Good morning. I am not sure if I am being paranoid so I figured I would post and see what you guys think.
Popcorn is a Cuckoo Maran rooster (born early March 2023) who currently has a swollen head/face. More specifically, the left side, above and slightly around his left eye. He does have some...
Hello! This is BBQ, she answers to BB, and I have no clue what breed she is.
I got her from Cal-Ranch, she looked like a little chipmunk with really prominent eyeliner, yellow featherless feet, and black, gray, & redish-brown feathers.
Her eyeliner faded as she grew, with it now not visible...

how often, and for how long, do I need to remove the saddles?
I don't like removing them for too long since they will lose the feathers that they're...

Hello all, 'fairly newbie' chicken mama here, excited to be part of the BYC community! I come here VERY often and would love to chime in, share, and interact with equally cooky chicken mamas & daddys.
I was flung head first into this mania when I 'got' (long story for its own post soon) my...
