    Sexing polish chicks

I’m not sure on age but I believe they are around 7 weeks old. Hoping for guesses on if these 4 are pullets or cockerels. Also the one that is sort of golden laced has a lopsided crest and it is starting to hold its head crooked. Does anyone have experience with this problem? Thanks

Polish chick getting pecked - What should I do?

Well, as DobieLover predicted on my introduction post thread, my little flock of mixed breed chicks just turned 3 weeks old, and now they’re pecking at Chickabiddy’s head (my white crested black Polish girl who is so sweet and likes to perch on my arm to be petted). 😥 I am brand new to chickens...

Day old polish chicks? What color are these babies?

These babies hatched about 36 or so hours ago. I'm pretty certain they're polish chicks (they were from a local BYM with a polish rooster & blrw rooster over a tolbunt and splash polish) but my kids and I are trying to guess color. Oldest thinks they're grey and I'm leaning towards a buff maybe?

    Pullet or cockerel???

I have 4 chickens roughly 14-16 weeks old. Two Polish and two silkies. I think the white silkie and the black polish are pullets, and think the white Polish and black silkie are cockerels. (No one is crowing yet) This is my first time owning chickens so am new to the whole sexing part. Please...

Meyer grab bin babies - breeds?

Took a little field trip with the kiddo to Meyer yesterday and she picked out (and promptly gave random names) to these guys from the grab bin. Aside from the two Polish, any guesses on breeds?

Anyone have any idea what gender this baby is? About 10 week old crested polish top hat. I love him/her and I need it to be a pullet or I will be distraught 😅

    Common Polish Behavior?

I have a Polish pullet and I adore her but it never was a breed that I was super interested in. She gets along great with the others, doesn't get picked on, and overall seems very healthy as in she's eating and has normal poops, her eyes are very bright and clear, etc. But some of her behavior...

    Introducing my new babies

In my most recent incubation, only 2 eggs ended up developing. I was really hoping hatch would go smoothly and I wouldn't end up with a lone chick, or no chicks. Thankfully, both had a fast and smooth hatch! Of my six silkie eggs, only one developed. These eggs were older so I was a little...

Polish Chick damaged feather need advice

I got a mixed flock of chicks born March 29 so currently between 5-6 weeks. My polish chick tried to escape yesterday. I had a dog crate divider over their coop to try to avoid them flying out. Learned my lesson because poor penguin beat up their head feathers trying to get out. Since then the...

Hi I have an 11 wk silver laced polish that I am confused about. Her brother started crowing a couple weeks ago and got a bunch of red bits around his face. This morning when all of my roosters were going off, the bird in question made one weird yell. I have a couple hens who scream with my...

    I am beaming with Pride!

I began the transition from inside brooder to outside coop this week. I just couldn't stand them in the house anymore and they looked so sad and bored. So Friday afternoon, I put them in the outside pen as usual and let them wander around until dusk. The door between the coop and run has been...

Can I put silkies, polish, appenzeller Spitzhauben and barnevelders together in the same Coop without bullying?? How loud are the apps and the barns?

Hi. I have a very large coop and run that is 100% shaded and has lots of ventilation and is very high with multiple perches at varying heights. I have 3 feeders and 3 waterers. The whole coop and run are 100% protected from predators and extremely spacious, it's a gigantic Kingdom for...
