I've never, in 20 years of using, building and servicing PCs seen a 1024 x 480 screen

I'm actually using a 1280 x 800 myself.

My worry was that the column width set in the BYC pages might preclude larger images than the size suggested (600 pixels wide)

It's no biggie. One way or another y'all will see the coop which, btw, is ready for the finish.

If you want a sneak preview

Ignore the top picture, it's a placeholder and will actually end up further down the page.

ps .... I do realise the 1024 x 480 thang was a typo, and I was just messin'

hahaha... good catch! I guess that's what happens when I multitask 10 things at once.

What, you don't like my super wide but very short monitor?

Good looking coop and page!!!

For fun I tried some experiments. I copied all your stuff on your page and tried to paste it into one of my pages. The formatting was perfect, but the pictures were not working (did you use relative links?)

I then pasted using the "paste from word"... well the pics came in but the formatting was off:

I've had great success copy/paste from other sites, but for some reason it didn't work this last time.

LOL. That 1024 x 480 had me soo confused for a moment!

I run 1680 x 1050... but got my eye on a 1920 x 1200... not quite worth it yet.

Maybe I'll post up my coop in progress :p

But that requires me to figure out how to use the pages....

Thanks for trying that

If the pictures work I can very easily move the text.

I'm just very used to building pages on my own 3 websites that it's easier.

OTOH, it won't be too much trouble to create a page here either

If you wanna see our latest chicks, go here

That is a community blog, recently started by Jodie and I which we hope our widespread (UK, France, all over the USA) will start to use to share stuff.

Do we have an end date for this contest? I plan to build a chicken fortress this spring and it would be fun to enter.

Marcus

Sure does, thanks. When I scanned the posts, I was looking for a date format, rather than a written month.

Steve,

What an absolutely gorgeous coop! An architectural masterpiece.

Will you please tell us a little more about it? I'd like to know the size... and would this design be conducive to putting up on legs? It really is so beautifully built. I can smell the fresh wood now.

Did you use the spruce for the look and strength of the wood? And what is the cost of spruce compared to the soft pine?
The coop looks as if it would pass muster with one of our good southern California earthquakes.

Thanks so much for posting photographs. I *do* wish I could get a larger photo of the some of the pics.... dang computers!

And after all the thought and creativity that went into that coop, I hope you do sell many.

Hi.

WOW, ty

There will be more pictures and a fuller writeup when I can get my new HVLP spray gun to work properly.

It's a mixture of spruce and pine with a skid frame (not yet shown) of pressure treated lumber.

It's about 4' long and 3' wide.

Send me an email address to twigg2324 at yahoo dot co dot uk and I will email better pics as soon as it is finished.

Steve
