Update Apr. 30, 2008
We can't get the wire mesh until May 2! Yeesh. Well maybe the ideas will be of use to someone, but we won;t be finished for May 1.
Finally finished - just in time to submit! Dh and 12yods did a great job and I am so proud of them and pleased with the coop. The chickens love their new home.
This is my first attempt ever at making a web page of any kind
my son and i have a ways to go, but we are beyond the 'design' stage, and moving to the construction stage. should be just about perfect timing with getting it finished and the girls ready to move into larger digs.
We set up a blog for 'Fort Clucks'. We brought home (5) Rhode Island Reds and (5) Black Australorps this morning. The blog shows from beginning to end pictures. We started March 1st and finished on April 26th.
The hen house is 6' x 6', and the run is 6' x 14'. The total enclosure is made of dog kennel panels purchased from sellers on CraigsList. We purchased rough cut pine lumber from a local sawmill in North Georgia.
This was our 1st major project as husband and wife of nearly 6 years (May 18th). I work from home and Elizabeth enjoys being a stay-at-home housewife. The Lord hasn't blessed us with any children yet.
Please feel free to browse our blog, there are plenty of beginning to end pictures. Click the link for older posts (if needed).
Go to your page and right click the adress bar of the page, copy and paste it to the forum thread:>) THere may be an easier way but that is how I do it.
I just joined this site - I have also just finished building my coop! So I'd love to enter this contest!! I don't have any "before" or "during" photos because I wasn't aware of this contest... But just imagine a typical empty garden shed and you'll know what it used to look like!
