I don't have a horse.

The thing is, when I switched to English and decided to do lessons, I couldn't lease and do lessons. D: I'm just worried that since my trainer is going to college next year, that I'll have to go to one of the less-experienced one. I am grateful that I can switch around, but I'd so trade to have a gelding and a little colt like you do!
hugs.gif
Maybe... Just maybe, you can work on training your colt to be an all-rounder. Maybe trails and some English flat or jumping on the trail!
big_smile.png

We couldn't afford to take lessons or lease. I'm glad I have Dez and Duce, but I wish I could do something. I don't know how to jump, and I probably couldn't train him to jump anything. I don't have anybody that could teach me either. I doubt I could even sit it. (Although, when my gelding started bucking a while back, mom said I stayed on for a least three good bucks, bareback
big_smile.png
) My town doesn't have anything like an equestrian team. If it did, I wouldn't be experienced enough to join it.
sad.png
I can barely handle my crazy Peruvian as it is. And he's really old! DX
sad.png
I've only been riding for like maybe 5 or 6 months, and my horse completely flipped out in the Christmas parade. That's really embarrassing.
sad.png
I can never ride with any of my friends because my horse goes nuts, and I usually can't handle him.
hmm.png
I wonder if we made a mistake buying him. If he hadn't come up, I would have gotten a big paint gelding. I'll always wonder about that.
idunno.gif
Your are just really lucky. Don't worry, you'll get a horse someday.
smile.png
I'm sure of it.

I've been riding since I was 6, but I'm not as good as that sounds.
th.gif
I've seen 3 year riders who can do more stuff than I can. The past three years, I've been doing nothing but trails and my skills have plateau'd.
hmm.png

Sometimes the older ones have more spunk! It definitely depends on his past, too.
hugs.gif
I hope so.

Better than me.

His past was bad, my dad thinks that he was (either left brain or right brain (we were watching Parelli the other day) and that he used to be the one that is desirable and good, but was pushed into being the other one that is bad because of abuse and starvation(they had a horse that they brought on the show, he was the good desirable side, but abuse pushed him into beings the other side that is bad, causing him to freak out every time you put the bit in his mouth, no matter how much groundwork or bridle-less riding the lady had done with him.)

That's horrible.
sad.png
How could someone do that? Must've been really hard to restore his trust.
sad.png
How long have you had him?

I think it was May. Somewhere around that time. It was and it is. He never comes to anybody, if you want to pet him, you have to go to him and pet him. When I walk up to him to like pat his but or something, he cringes. When I drive him in the round pen, he fly's because I have a whip in my hand, and he does NOT slow down. If you kick him, he practically shoots out from under you. Hit him by accident, he jumps. He was deathly afraid of the water hose, even without the water on, brushes too. He flinched like I was going to hit him with the brush. I'm still trying to get all of his trust. I see riding as a game of follow the leader, and he doesn't see me as the leader, he doesn't follow me. Yet. He's been doing better bareback. Like if I let go of the reins, he kinda stops like he's waiting for me to tell him we=here to go, which is good.

You definitely sound like you know what you're doing for riding for 6 months!

Naw, I'm sure you're pretty good. I'm not all that great.
tongue.png
But I really can't wait until I start riding western, my parents said it was okay and my riding teacher can teach it, I think. Also, there are more western oppurtunities up here than there are english.

Speaking about my riding teacher, she dislocated her shoulder last Saturday, so I couldn't go riding.
hmm.png
Hope she's okay.

I beg to differ.

I really hope she's alright, though.
