Granted, it's only a progress report and doesn't mean much, like the actual report card does, but STILL! An 81! I've never gotten below a b- (90) in my life! HOW DID I GO FROM A 98 IN THAT CLASS TO AN 81?!?!?!
And an 81 is like a 'C'...A 'C'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never had a 'C' before! Ever!
I almost cried when I saw the 81 on my report card this morning.
And I do all my work! I pay attention in class! I only passed in a late paper that was late by one single day, and I still finished it, but I did get a 79 on a test.
(because it had a math/fractions part to it about parent isotopes, etc...and I know I did horrible on it
) But still, doing bad on one test shouldn't bring me down from a 98 to an 81!!!
Try to calm down. I know you must be very upset, but just try to calm down. It's only one report, and a progress one at that. What are the grades in your other classes?

Well, my other classes are all 90+. My highest grade is a 100 in one class, and all the others are above 90 (like around 93, 95, etc...). I even went from a 91 to a 93 in math, on the bright side!
But still, science should be one of my best subjects. It has been for the past several years; I've always had a good grade in it. But now, just because I may have passed in a completed homework assignment one day late (and with a good excuse) and did pretty bad (but still passed) on a test over geologic time, thanks to the dumb math part of it, my grade shouldn't drop by 17 points!

It's only one less than B grade. It' not your fault that you aren't as good at math as some others. Don't be to hard on yourself.
Only?! I never get less than a B! Getting a C is like, horrible to me! Even if it's not on my permanent record, just the thought of it and it being official on my progress report makes me want to cry.
(Sorry, but I'm a major over-achiever...I've seen than whenever a lot of other people get a bad grade, they don't really care, and they sometimes even brag about it. But that's not me; I freak out over the slightest things with my grades, and I've never ever ever had a C before, except for last year my class was doing a project on propaganda, and she said that if we had any extra magazines to bring in (and only IF we did), then we could bring them in, but she said she had extras. I don't really have any good magazines, so I decided not to bring one in, since she said that she had extras for us to use, and the next day she got mad at me for not bringing one in and gave me a C for all assignments that day! It didn't really affect my actual grade, but still, I have a thing against just seeing C's on a progress report. Plus, I'll need to explain it to my parents why I have all B+ and A's, except for that one 81 grade in science!

(So am I. Just take a deep breath and get something to take it out on, like a stress ball or a punching bag.)

It's okay.
Thanks.
Christmas vacation couldn't have come at a better time this year...It starts tomorrow, and tomorrow is my last day of science class before Christmas vacation. So over my long vacation, I will be definitely getting my science stuff together and raising that grade A LOT before the actual report cards come out in January. Because if I got a C on the actual report card...
So that's my goal; I'm going to be the best student in that class and get EVERY SINGLE piece of work done, to the best of my ability, and I will make that grade go up because, personally, a C is just not acceptable.
