Same here with my lab. He is probably the best dog I will ever know, but sadly he's getting up there in age, and Arthritis is hitting him in his hips.

Its hard to see Ozzie in pain, who was once a very athletic dog back in his day.

Though he's a big baby, Rocco is the coyote and deer chaser type. He'd probably kill the coyotes if they were on the same side of the fence. He likes to protect his family, and just so happens to be next to me now.

He sounds like a cool dog! Though I don't like labs.

Or dogs, for that matter.

Still, there are a few cool/awesome ones out there. a few.

Though he barks a bunch when you first meet him because he doesn't recognize you, he's REALLY sweet.

Labs are prone to hip dysplasia when they get older. Hope you can make him feel better; give him plenty of love.
