Name her Gabrielle.

It was funny, once with our first chickens we had a chick that we thought was female, so we named "her" Josephine. After a while it became clear that she was not a she, and so we renamed him Napoleon, since Napoleon Bonaparte's wife was named Josephine. Now little Napoleon is the top roo in our flock! He and one hen are the only ones that are referred to in our household by their actual names. Even though most have names, the rest of the house prefers to call them "the chickens". The Duck, of course, is always called by her name; she is the lone duck and doesn't need a name.

I would have renamed him Joseph.

I almost named my rooster, Ivory, "Jasmine" just because I liked that name. But I still named him Ivory even when I thought he was a "she", so when I found out he wasn't a "she", he kept the name Ivory because it can be for male or female.

The part about the lone duck sounds like our house.
Poor Mrs. Duck is all alone.

Her husband died while trying to save her from a predator. Her name is Runaway (I don't know why, ask the five year old) but we just call her The Duck or Mrs. Duck.

Anywayyyyy... my sister wants the computer.
So long,
