I'm pretty sure Garfield counts as cruel and unusual.
What about the time the neighbour called Jon up to tell him their dog had been shaved, had its collar stolen and its remaining hair dyed green? Jon assured her that Garfield had been asleep all day and could not possibly have been the culprit. He went to glare at Garfield for a few slides, then as soon as he was gone, Garfield lifted up the dog's collar and twirled it around his finger, smiling inanely.

Fiddler on the roof. It's the scene right after Hodel's dad tell her and Motel, "Yeah, whatever. Get married. But I'm mad." Motel is so excited he can't sit still, and runs around the woods singing about different miracles, but that the most amazing one is that her dad said yes. They're Jewish, so he has to give the okay.

Well, it was positively hilarious. I was reading it while at work (the book was kindly donated to my boss my the manager of the library next door, who said he couldn't put books on the shelf that were in Chinese) and laughed myself stupid.
