Awesome, I LOVE liveatc!
What airport were you on?
I usually try to catch Kennedy's rush hour. it's absolute mayhem, it's epic
I'm at PDX, Portland International Airport. I live only a couple of miles from it and I usually see a bunch of planes overhead and in the distance who are heading towards it. Though, it's less busy at the moment because it's 12:50 here.
I was listening to SFO (San Francisco International Airport) a moment ago, too. That was the one that made me jump.
I used to live in that area and it was such a cool airport! Really busy too.
Portland! I've heard of that: in geography, we were doing a case study on how they rebuilt its economy
15:50
What are you still doing up?! lol
I much prefer the busy airports: I only started with Adelaide because it was quiet and less confusing. I never even used to know what a runway was, or a heading, or anything like that, so I was totally out of my depth.
"Wind 190 degrees at 8 knots"?
Me:
The wind must be scorching out there...
Nowadays I hardly ever listen to Adelaide anymore
It is WAY too quiet.
But in the city, you used to be able to see the planes on final for runway 23, and once there were even fireworks that I could watch while ATC told everyone about them
