Deathstorm walked through the dark forest, his feathers ruffled and bloodstained. He frowned, then continued to walk alone, wondering how he had gotten here. In life,he had been a ruthless killer, determined and proud, but after death,he was now nothing more than a spirit, cursed to roam in the dark forest, away from Starclan. He would never belong with them,no matter how hard he tried. He sighed, then continued to make his way towards the river, his long tail flowing behind him. Once there, his red eyes scanned the trees, now seeming paronoid. All around him, shadows seemed to glow in the darkness, but the forest was un-naturally quite. Ignoring the fact,Deathstorm looked down at his reflection, wondering what he had become . He hadn't seen his own reflection in years. What he saw made his stomach churn. Deathstorm saw a large cock, hardened from years of war. His large eyes were heartless and cruel, his triple spurs glistening with the innocent's blood he had killed. He hadn't meant to become this..monster..no.. It wasn't his fault. A low growl interupted his thoughts, causing Deathstorm to cock a brow. Curious,he tilted his head, but didn't move a muscle. Someone was coming, and he was sure of it. Without warning,a large shadow approached Deathstorm quickly,it's long hackle feathers seeming to glisten with blood. Before he could react,Deathstorm felt himself being pushed against a nearby tree, the breath knocked out of his body. A large claw pinned him against the tree, making escape impossible. "Now," An icy,yet familier voice boomed from beside him. Deathstorm growled and fixed his gaze on the newcomer, his hackles raised. He kicked desperatly at the air, trying to escape. The shadow laughed, his red eyes staring intently into Deathstorm's. "Escape is useless," "Try if you want, but you won't get anywhere." Deathstorm froze, his eyes wide. "Who are you?" He demanded, hoping he wasn't who he thought he was. The rooster laughed again, this time putting an oversized triple spur to his neck, threatening to rip it open. "Who I am is no concern to you," He growled, starting to sink his spurs into Deathstorm's neck. Gasping for breath,Deathstorm looked at the small pool of blood forming at his feet. "You," He muttered the best he could, blood spilling from his beak. The rooster smiled and started to push his spurs deeper into his neck, making it nearly impossible to breath. "Yes,Deathstorm," "Revenge is great, isn't it?" His vision flickering,Deathstorm felt the rooster loosening his grip on his neck and he fell to the ground. "What?" He groaned, looking up. The rooster was now placing a sharpened claw onto his chest, making Deathstorm unable to move once again. Deathstorm closed his eyes and grimaced, wondering what to do. This is it.. He thought to himself as he felt the claws sink into his flesh, ripping at his feathers. "You were never worthy of being part of us," He heard the rooster say. "And now,you must pay.." No,he couldn't give up..atleast not this easily. Growling,Deathstorm reluctantly opened his eyes, ignoring the pain in his body. "Never!" Without warning,he started to claw at the rooster, smiling. "I think it is you who must pay," He muttered weakly,a bit of his old self appearing. The rooster, now wincing in pain, looked away, giving Deathstorm just enough time to get up. His feathers, covered in his own blood, were illuminated by the glow of the forest, making him appear to be a ghost. "Deathstorm,my old friend," The rooster growled, turning back around to face him. "There's no possible way you'll win this time." And with that,he rushed forward, ready to strike.Deathstorm tried desperatly to escape, using his smaller size to try to fly away. Years of hard work and training had finally paid off,and in one second,he was on top of a large red tree. An invisible current swirled around him, making Deathstorm feel uncomfortable. There was something wrong..something not right here.. It was then when it happened. Before he had time to react,he was knocked off top of the tree, into the crimson water below. He tried flying, but it proved out useless. He wings thrashed wildy in the air,as his screams echoed the forest, followed by an evil laughter. "It doesn't feel that great, does it?"
Deathstorm closed his eyes and grimaced, wishing this wasn't happening. As soon as he hit the water,Deathstorm was engulfed by darkness, the swishing current ruffling his dark feathers. At that moment,he thought of the wrongs he had done, the innocents he had killed. His own father, how he hated his son,no matter how hard Deathstorm tried to please him. No,he'd been called a failure, unfit to live. He'd been sentenced to death, beaten endlessly and left in the forest to die. Then they took him in,rescued him from certain death. The Shadows seemed nice enough then, and he had lived to serve them, doing whatever he could possible to earn respect. He remembered when he finally got revenge, and the dying screams of his father, begging him to have mercy. He was a great warrior, always respected and looked up to after that day,but then he met Roseleaf. He'd fallen in love with her, abandoning his duties just to be with her. He'd been sent on a mission, and used that as an excuse to run away from The Shadows, leaving his old life behind him. Of course,he knew that they'd catch up to him. And that they did. He refused to return to them, and they responded by killing his mate and leaving Nightwhisper wounded. He had no other choice. He had to rejoin them, leaving his own son to his fate. He'd become loyal once again and tried to forget about his past. Things returned to normal,at least for a short while. Then,he thought of the many moons leading up to his death. And now this. He just wished things could have turned out differently. That he had never become such a souless, unforgiving monster. Deathstorm wished it was just a dream, but no. It was reality. He slowly opened his eyes, letting out a silent scream. The water was pulling him down, onto the sharp rocks below. Above him,a pair of glowing red eyes watched, glistening with pure amusement. It was too much. Without another word,Deathstorm closed his eyes once again, willingly letting the darkness take over.
