She turned quickly and tried to dart past him.

He tripped her with his paw and grabbed her scruff in his jaws, dragging her the rest of the way. On one side of the den was a nest, obviously where Jasper slept. It was tucked away in a dry corner of the cave, away from the dripping mountain water on the other side.
