Lostcry smelled Tawnypelt before she saw her, but recognized the Songclan scent immediately. For a moment she glanced back at the she-cat, and pointed with her tail towards the clearing, where the tom sat next to the body of the rattlesnake.

Tawnypelt nodded, half concealed in the branches of the tree

Sunpaw crept quietly along behind Lostcry, careful not to step on anything that would make any noise.

With a glance at Sunpaw, Lostcry halted, concealed by a thick berry bush not five cat-lengths from the tom. It was a good vantage point. It was time to see exactly what this he-cat was up to. The rattlesnake caught her eye, and she looked back up at the tom, impressed. It wasn't easy to hunt rattlesnake, or kill one at all for that matter. It was clear that this cat was not an amateur.

At this thought, she wasn't sure whether to be relieved or frightened.

Wiping blood from his claws on the grass, he rose to all four of his paws and sniffed the air. Just as his keen nose had suspected before; Cats. Wondering if they wanted to fight him for his catch, he picked the remains of his prey up in his sharp, white fangs and dropped it into a dense fern, where it was shrouded by leaves.

"Hello?" he called out to the forest, his voice deep and steady, lacking fear.

His tassled ears felt back slightly. He seemed quite suprised, and his fangs gently bit his lip in embarassment. "I didn't mean to intrude, I can leave," he said, promptly turning to the fern to pick up his prey again. He turned and glanced at her with his mouth parted as to say something, but paused for a moment. "I know that I probably didn't make the best impression just now," he chuckled, "but are you accepting new members?"

"We always are" She replied, cocking a brow at the snake and wondering how anyone could eat one "Follow me, I will take you to the camp"

"Thank you," he nodded, picking up the snake in case there were any kits or elders along the way that might want it. He'd already had his fill and taken the edge off.

Tawnypelt turned and led him back through the trees, walking at a brisk pace. She stopped to pick up the mouse and starling she had caught earlier and continued back into the camp and dropped it on the food pile.

(I would take you to the leader but I'm not sure who it is at the moment, since Nix left and Gerbil doesn't want it)
